Surrounded by the sights and sounds of a river-side ecosystem, this hidden historical gem provides the perfect little getaway from the bustle of the city. Experience wildlife and nature in a private setting as you sit and have your morning coffee on one of the many dry stack stone walls.
THE SUBTLE SOUND OF THE RIVER
A slow-moving river provided the backdrop to this serene landscape. A river-side patio allows you to take in the beauty of the natural environment. Native plantings along the shoreline encourage local wildlife to make their home nearby.
KEY FEATURES
In order to remain respectful of the heritage of this fully restored Victorian-style home, artistic dry stack stone walls and columns complimented by vintage-style gas lighting were used to reflect a simpler, more sophisticated time. Colourful planting and native specimens soften the stone walls and draw in wildlife from the river ecosystem.

PRESERVING & COMPLIMENTING HISTORY
The historical charm of this place is intentionally maintained in the choices of stone products and the repetition of the dry stacked stone. These intricate stone puzzles help preserve and accent the character that the original building has to offer.
Dry stack stone is a forgotten art form as old as time. The talented craftsmen at Creo have created a niche through this meticulous but rewarding task.
DRY-STACK, AN INTRICATE CRAFT
Limestone rubble is meticulously chiselled and shaped to create old-world style walls and columns. Select pieces of limestone excavated on-site can be incorporated into walls as unique feature pieces. The finished walls are extremely robust and built to last for generations to come. Lichens and moss will eventually establish on these walls and allow them to age in a way that will make them appear as if they’ve been there for decades.
